Hillstone was excellent from beginning to end. I ordered the French dip sandwich and it did not disappoint–the roast beef was incredibly tender and flavorful, piled generously high on a toasted roll and dipped into a delicious au jus that only made each bite better than the last. The ratio of meat to bread to jus was spot on and while filling, it wasn't heavy. The dirty martinis with feta‑stuffed olives were incredible as well and really complemented the meal— salty, briny, and perfectly chilled. Service was professional, personable, and attentive without being rushed and the upscale, cozy environment was inviting to kick back and enjoy yourself. Hillstone is a place I would return to just for that French dip and those martinis.

I always come here for the ribs and I’m never disappointed. You definitely have to expect a wait, as Hillstone is always busy. That’s a good thing though! The atmosphere is nice enough to take the time to wait and the food is always delicious so you leave feeling satisfied.

We are frequent dinner guests of Hillstone. When I saw the artichokes were back in season, I immediately called to make a reservation. Pro tip: if you call about a week in advance, you can usually snag a prime dinner slot almost any night of the week. Every time we go, the walk-in wait is usually 1–2 hours long. The sushi is absolutely phenomenal. Our go-to rolls are the Hiramasa Roll and the Coconut Shrimp Roll, but honestly, every sushi roll we’ve tried has been incredible. I love that they do more untraditional, creative sushi while still using the freshest ingredients. For appetizers: if the artichoke is in season, it's an absolute must try. If it’s not artichoke season, we usually just order an irresponsible amount of sushi before dinner. As for entrées, the Dover Sole is unbelievable, so light, delicate, and perfectly cooked every single time. I’m a Filet kinda girl, and theirs is top-tier. I also love that they’ll swap sides for no extra charge. Honestly, there isn’t a bad entrée on the menu, and I can confidently say that because we’ve tried everything at this point. They’re also incredibly thoughtful about celebrations and almost always send over dessert or a round of drinks for birthdays or special occasions. Lastly, the Pot de Crème. It is life changing! It looks deceptively simple, but the flavor and texture are unreal. Hands down my favorite dessert in Phoenix. If you leave Hillstone without ordering it, I genuinely feel like you missed part of the experience.

Food and service is always on point. You can’t beat their consistency and attention to detail. This becomes a staple in many people’s regular rotation for the variety and quality of food, efficient service, and special touches like swapping your martini glass halfway through so it stays cold and a warm towel to clean your hands between courses. I highly respect their strict standards for dress code and reservations too. They will enforce them, so keep it classy or go elsewhere. They are always busy so no large parties, and make a reservation if you have more than 2 people, otherwise expect to wait a bit. They are very quick and efficient, and you can always grab a drink at the bar area while you wait if anything. Jimmy and Sky at the bar are the best. 🥰 Thank you!

An absolutely phenomenal place. Everything is five-star here, from the service to the guest experience to the food. This is an excellent space to enjoy a wonderful, delicious meal. I came here for lunch, and my expectations were blown away. This would definitely be a space I would go to again. Reservations are recommended for this place, and I wouldn't suggest showing up without them. We shared two different types of unique sushi, all fresh with a great taste. The ginger with the sushi was thinly sliced and fresh as well. The Chinese Asian salad I had was phenomenal; the dressing had shellfish in it, and I let the server know that I had a shellfish allergy. She had read through all of the ingredients on every single menu and made sure that everything was prepared with clean utensils once they did the sushi and confirmed with the dressing. She knew to check for all ingredients. I truly appreciate all of the extra steps they went through. I would definitely recommend anyone to come to this space.
